Caramelized Cinnamon Sauce

This is a sweet addition to Apple Pie-rogies but it would also be wonderful on Fluffy Vegan Waffles or pancakes! This combination of sweet and spice melts delightfully on your tongue. It keeps well in the fridge but will disappear quickly!

Instructions
  1. Have your ingredients measured out and ready to add quickly when needed.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed pan, such as a cast iron frying pan, add your sugar and cook at medium heat until the sugar starts to clump. Stir constantly as the sugar continues to melt and turns light brown. It is very important to watch closely and stir constantly, as this can burn quickly.
  3. Once your sugar has caramelized into a smooth, golden syrup, add your butter and stir until melted. Quickly add the milk, half at a time, as it will bubble up.
  4. Remove from heat and add the cinnamon, vanilla and salt. Stir well. Whisk to create your smooth, delicious syrup!
  5. This keeps well in the fridge and is good cold or easily warmed up for full flavour power! Enjoy!
Recipe Notes

Try drizzling a little of this on warm oatmeal for a breakfast treat! For a quick snack any time, just serve up a plate of fresh, unpeeled apple slices with a little bowl of this sauce!
