- Combine the peanut butter, vanilla and agave. Taste the mixture and add a little salt, according to taste. Stir in the rice krispies until evenly distributed. If you want a crunchier ball, add more!
- Form approximately 1 rounded tablespoon into a ball and squeeze to add enough pressure to hold the ingredients together. Place balls on a piece of parchment or a sil pad and chill in freezer for 30 minutes. This makes coating them so much easier!
- Roast your hazelnuts in a 350 degree F. oven for just a few minutes, until they have started to brown. Watch that they don't burn. Once done, chop and sprinkle with a little salt while they are warm. Put in a shallow bowl.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt at high for 30 seconds and then remove and stir. Repeat this again. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate.
- Dip each ball into the chocolate, covering about 2/3 of the ball. Then immediately dip the warm, chocolate-covered ball into the bowl of chopped nuts.
- Let cool before eating. These are best chilled. Enjoy!
Alternatively, you can always make some treats using silicone molds. Just thinly coat the molds with melted vegan chocolate and let chill. When cold, fill the shells with a little of the peanut butter mixture. Brush a little more chocolate over the shape and chill again. When desired, unmold and enjoy! I made these particular heart-shaped treats in honour of my wonderful father-in-law, who, sadly, just passed away. He was always a big fan of peanut butter and chocolate. We will hold him in our hearts always. Thinking of you with love, Norman!
