DIY Vegan Dog Food
The combinations are endless when you make your own plant-based dog food! This recipe is just an example. This provides high quality nutrition as well as some tasty variety for our pup’s palate. Every time you make a batch, it will be a little different, depending what you have in your fridge and freezer. If you have a garden, grow some extra green beans, peas, and spinach! Radish greens are great, too! Avoid any onion, garlic, or spicy products.

Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and heat slowly. Cook until the mixture becomes a tasty stew and veggies have cooked down.
  2. Let cool, then freeze in 3-4 cup servings for variety. Every time you make this it will probably be a little different, depending on what leftovers are in your freezer. (Dogs get bored eating the same thing, too!)
  3. I put a cup or so on her 4 cups of vegan crunchies. (She turned out to be a large and beautiful being!) That way I know she is getting all the basics in the way of vitamin/mineral additives from the certified kibble and enjoying the benefits of a variety of healthy vegan “toppings”.
Recipe Notes

Update: I have found our dogs like their food to be processed into a tasty mush sometimes, so that there aren’t any lumps of veggies to leave behind.

Always make sure to change your dog’s diet gradually, mixing old food with a new variety until you can serve 100% of the new food.
