Naughty Nog Waffles (GF) with Spiced Maple Rum Syrup
A great breakfast or brunch option, these crispy, gluten-free, holiday-flavoured Naughty Nog Waffles are perfect for a special gathering! The Spiced Maple Rum Syrup is an easy and wonderful addition!

Spiced Maple Rum Syrup
Instructions
  1. Warm up your waffle pan. Make sure you give it a quick spray with vegetable oil even if it says non-stick.
  2. Prepare your egg replacer in a separate cup.
  3. Sift together your flours, baking powder, salt and all your spices.
  4. Mix together your wet ingredients, including “eggs”, in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Add sifted dry ingredients to bowl and mix until combined. It should be quite thick.
  6. Let the batter sit for about 10 minutes to allow rising agents to activate.
  7. Ladle about a cup of batter on to your pan. Adjust quantity according to the size of your pan.
  8. Close and bake as directed until golden brown. These will likely be darker than a regular waffle. Remove from pan carefully and eat immediately!! If you want to cool them, do so on a rack, so they don’t get soggy. They also toast up well for later!
  9. Serve with a small bowl of Spiced Maple Rum Syrup for the full festive experience! No cutlery needed! Enjoy!
