Roasted Hazelnut Clusters
Toast up some hazelnuts to get that extra roasty flavour and add a sprinkle of salt. A careful melting of chocolate can be done in just moments in the microwave and then just stir all the tastiness together.

Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. This is for roasting the nuts.
  2. On an ungreased baking sheet, spread out your hazelnuts in a single layer. Bake until golden brown and roasty flavoured. Be careful with this as they burn easily.
  3. When the nuts have cooled a little, chop up about 1/3 of your nuts into small pieces, sprinkle with a little salt, and mix with the whole roasted nuts. Toss in a large bowl.
  4. To prepare your chocolate, just put your chocolate chips in a microwave-safe container that allows you some room for stirring. Let them heat at high for about 30 seconds. They won’t look melted but stir anyway! Put them back in for another 30 seconds and then stir again. A third melting should be all you need but it will depend on your microwave. Add the coconut oil and stir again, making sure the mixture is smooth and not lumpy.
  5. Pour your melted chocolate over the nuts and drop by Tablespoons into small foil shells or onto some parchment paper. (The foil shells are very inexpensive and add a decorative touch.)
  6. You could decorate each with a piece of nut or a whole nut. Let cool until the chocolate has hardened. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes

This would be a great recipe to let the kids help with, and to try different combinations of nuts and dried fruits. It’s always good to add the extra nutrition!
