Combine all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Lower heat to a medium/low level and allow to cook, stirring regularly until the mixture has become a thick, syrupy consistency.It will continue to thicken as it cools. You can test by allowing a little to cool on a spoon in the freezer. Remove from heat and remove cinnamon sticks.
To use as a spread, allow to cool completely. This will keep well in the fridge. Enjoy!
